We are looking for a Head of Risk to join our BUX team based in Amsterdam.

As Head of Risk, you will join the Risk, Compliance, and Legal domain as the second line of defence at BUX. You will be responsible for advancing the maturity of the risk function and providing strategic support for the development of our new savings proposition. We are looking for a senior professional with a deep affinity for investing products who thrives in a fast-paced fintech environment undergoing significant growth.

You will report directly to the Chief Risk & Compliance Officer.

What you will do

• Define the risk agenda and execute on its goals

• Set up and/or update the Non-financial Risk Framework for the savings and investment propositions

• Develop data-driven tools and intuitive processes

• Identify, measure, manage and report risks to enable better decision making

• Nurturing a Risk culture at BUX through awareness training and open dialogue

• Supporting the business through regulatory and strategic change projects

What you need to succeed

You embrace change and are comfortable balancing your mandate to incorporate effective internal controls into business processes, with an understanding that change requires creativity and an ability to deal with the unpredictable. You have strong analytical skills and a curious nature, which enable you to problem-solve. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills. You can work autonomously and yet can collaborate effectively with teams across BUX and ABN AMRO. You have a high level of self-knowledge and want to keep on developing and improving.

Requirements:

• You have a minimum of 8 years’ relevant work experience, of which at least 3 years are in a 2nd line Risk function and 5 years in the financial services sector

• You have a Master’s degree in Business, Law or other relevant field

• You have experience with interest rate risk in the banking book, behavioural risk and risk modelling

• You have experience with IT risk and have working knowledge of DORA

• You have experience with developing and optimising risk control frameworks

• You have experience working in a regulated environment

• You have experience with stress testing and scenario analysis

Nice-to-have:

• Interest in programming and databases (SQL)

• Able to multitask and work well under pressure

• Proactive and confident in making decisions

• Detail-oriented, with the ability to keep a broad overview

• Commercially aware with a practical approach to risk

• Uses networks to stay informed and get things done

• Strong advisory skills and able to work effectively with senior stakeholders
