Your mission

In tech we are building software systems in two main areas:

• Heartbeat: Building a virtual power plant levering our energy manager “Heartbeat” and evolving the customer experience app around this
• Operating System for installation companies: Digitisation of operations and processes from ground operations to rooftop installations

As a Site Reliability / Platform Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation and optimal performance of those systems while keeping the developer productivity high. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including ML Ops Engineers, Frontend/Backend/Mobile Engineers, Product Manager, and Customer Support, to identify and address any technical challenges or bottlenecks. By applying your expertise in site reliability and platform engineering, you will contribute to the overall stability, performance, and growth of our technology solutions, enabling our engineers to deliver exceptional solutions to our customers.

Your key responsibilities

• Improve reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our systems
• Support internal and external engineering teams to automate the application lifecycle through build, test, stage, and deploy by using DevOps and Continuous Delivery/Deployment best practices
• Develop software and establish systems to effectively handle the platform's infrastructure and applications
• Offer primary operational assistance and infrastructure expertise for our engineering teams
• Ensure good developer experience/productivity
• Enabling developer self-service by developing reusable, opinionated IaC modules

Your profile

• 2+ years of experience in a Platform Engineering (DevOps), Site Reliability, or comparable Cloud Engineering position
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles, with a focus on Terraform
• Good experience working with a public cloud provider, ideally Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and a solid understanding of its core services and offerings
• Deep understanding and hands-on experience with container-based infrastructure (Docker, Google Cloud Run, Kubernetes)
• A proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks
• Strong customer-centric mindset with a deep understanding of the importance of enabling exceptional developer experiences
• Very good knowledge of spoken and written english, german is a plus
• residency in Germany
• Bonus points for:
• Ability to code with one or more high-level languages, such as Python, GoLang or TypeScript
• Prior experience creating and maintaining Github Actions workflows and custom actions
• Interest in climate tech industry
