Job Description

Your mission during this flight:

As a Flight Control Laws Engineer you will develop and tune the control algorithms and model-based software that runs on a real urban air mobility solution. You will design and implement safety-critical models and develop the software that controls and stabilizes our aircraft.

You are a Flight Control Laws Engineer well versed in the Model-Based Design (MBD) processes (modeling, requirements tracing, code generation, validation, verification, and testing). In addition, you are experienced in software development along the V-model and are therefore familiar with standards such as RTCA/DO-178C and DO-331. Within a multi-disciplinary team, you support the development process of the Flight Control Laws of the VoloCity.

  • You will design, document, and validate Flight Control Law algorithms using the MBD workflow. This includes: Modeling in Simulink, requirements tracing, code generation, validation, verification, and testing of the control software.
  • You will trace requirements, generate code, validate, verify and test the control software. You will interface with the software development team for integration of the Control Laws with other software components.
  • You will support development and maintenance of our MBD toolchain which follows Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) approach.

Qualifications

Check in your professional skills:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering or similar
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in software development with MBD
  • Excellent knowledge of MATLAB and Simulink
  • Experience with MathWorks Simulink MBD workflow/toolchain (e.g. Simulink Requirements, Simulink Test, Simulink Code Generation & Inspection, …)
  • Background in aviation software standards (RTCA/DO-178C and DO-331)
  • Experience with scripted CI/CD workflows is a plus
  • Structured way of working, high sense of responsibility and accountability

Preferred skills:

  • Experience with Control Systems Engineering, ideally for Flight Control
  • Software design experience and documentation, knowledge of C is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of legal basis for certification (SC-VTOL, CS23/25/27/29)
