About the role

As the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at Urban Sports Group, you'll spearhead the development and execution of our marketing strategy. You will be leveraging full funnel marketing tactics to amplify brand visibility, foster customer acquisition, and drive revenue growth across diverse markets. We're in search of a seasoned marketing leader with a proven track record, demonstrating adept leadership skills and an unwavering commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles.

Given our strong focus on B2B and technology, the CMO will work closely with sales to meet revenue targets effectively. The ideal candidate will excel in orchestrating multinational campaigns, refining PR strategies, and navigating complex organizational structures. A genuine enthusiasm for the health and wellness industry will be pivotal in thriving within this dynamic and evolving role. Last but not least, we are seeking individuals who can foster thought leadership within our team, driving innovation and shaping industry discourse.

Your responsibilities

  • Strategy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies aligned with overall business goals, specifically targeting B2B and B2C growth opportunities, including pipeline generation.
  • Team Leadership: Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing marketing team of 35+ FTEs while fostering a culture of collaboration and ownership. This team includes Growth Marketing, Brand, Demand Generation, CRM, and Customer Service.
  • Market Insights & VoC: Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify strategic opportunities and threats.
  • Brand Awareness: Craft clear marketing and communication strategies to solidify Urban Sports Club's presence across our markets (Germany, Netherlands, France, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, and Austria), driving brand awareness and user acquisition.
  • Product Marketing: Collaborate with product teams to execute product marketing and go-to-market strategies for new offerings and differentiate products in the market.
  • Digital Marketing: Oversee digital marketing initiatives, including online advertising, social media, email campaigns, and SEO, to reach target audiences and drive engagement.
  • Stakeholder Management: Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets, influencers, and other stakeholders to manage the company's reputation and promote positive coverage.
  • Performance Measurement: Establish KPIs and utilize analytics to measure campaign effectiveness, making data-driven decisions to optimize marketing strategies.
  • Budget Management: Manage a multi-million euro marketing budget effectively, allocating resources to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other business leaders to drive revenue growth and ensure alignment between marketing and business objectives.

What you need to succeed

  • 15+ years of experience in marketing, with significant leadership experience, with ideally over half of that time spent developing B2B expertise
  • A proven track record of marketing leadership in both B2B and B2C businesses
  • Deep understanding of marketplace businesses and product-led organizations
  • Experience with subscription-based business models is a huge plus
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for promoting healthy and active lifestyles
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing business environment
  • Proficiency in performance marketing and data-driven decision-making
