Safety Engineer – Autonomous Construction Machines
Embed safety and reliability into the DNA of our construction robots.
What you will do
Define and drive the safety concept for modular construction robots used on real sites.
Work from risk analysis through to safety architecture, documentation, and verification.
Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and software teams to design safe systems by default.
Prepare and support certification activities (CE, EMC, machinery directives and related norms).
Join field tests on construction sites to validate safety behavior in real‑world conditions.
What you bring
2–5 years of industry experience in safety engineering, functional safety, or certification for machines, robots, or industrial systems.
Experience with CE marking, Machine Directive (MD/MVO/MRL), Radio Equipment Directive (RED), EMV, ISO 12100, ISO 13849, IEC 60204-1, and safety‑relevant standards (e.g. machinery safety, functional safety levels).
Ability to turn regulations and standards into clear, pragmatic design requirements.
Structured way of working and strong documentation habits.
Motivation to work closely with an engineering team and to see systems in the field, not just on paper.
Nice to have
Background in mobile machinery, industrial automation, or robotics.
Experience with risk assessments, FMEAs, or safety cases.
Experience interfacing with test labs, notified bodies, or external assessors.
How we work
We are an in‑person team in Munich, building autonomous machines for harsh, messy, real construction environments. Safety is not a late add‑on – it is part of how we design and operate the system from day one.
