Your mission & challenges
We're looking for a Navigation Software Engineer to integrate, validate, and improve third-party and internal navigation solutions on our mobile robot platforms. You'll join our software department and work with third-party navigation, ROS 2, robot middleware, and fleet interfaces to make mobile robots navigate reliably in real customer environments.

You integrate and debug third-party navigation solutions into mobile robot and mobile manipulator platforms.

You develop and maintain a deep understanding of navigation software capabilities, configuration options, release updates, and known limitations; you collaborate with vendors by reporting issues, sharing feedback, and following up on bug fixes or feature improvements.

You develop software adapters between navigation systems, hardware interfaces, and fleet interfaces based on existing navigation systems.

You support navigation commissioning on real robots, including map creation, localization tuning, trajectory validation, and recovery behavior.

You analyze navigation failures using Docker logs, rosbag, RViz/Foxglove, and customer feedback.

You define standard commissioning and acceptance criteria for navigation performance, robustness, safety-related behavior, and navigation integration.
What we can look forward to

A degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.

2+ years of relevant work experience in robotics, software engineering, or a related technical field is a plus.

Solid knowledge of navigation and localization (SLAM) techniques and ROS 2.

Experience with C++, Python, RESTful APIs, and Docker.

The ability to debug and isolate issues in complex software architectures, independently analyze root causes, and resolve problems with the right tools and methods.

Understanding of VDA5050, fleet management, or multi-robot traffic concepts is a plus.

Willingness to work with real robots, customer environments, and cross-functional teams.

Good English communication skills.
