Metzingen
At the heart of product innovation and development, our Systems Engineering Department transforms market demands into safe, certifiable, and competitive solutions and architectures. By collaborating closely with software, hardware, safety, and certification teams, we ensure every product meets the highest standards while adapting to fast-evolving market needs. Our mission is to enable seamless human-robot collaboration and deliver solutions that are safe, compliant, and ready for the future. Join us to shape the next generation of human-robot systems by owning system-level requirements, integration, and alignment, with architectural responsibilities as needed. If you thrive in cross-functional teamwork and technical excellence, you’ll find extraordinary opportunities with us.
Your Mission & Challenges-
Own System Integration: Integrate HW and SW subsystems into verified robotic products — from collaborative arms to humanoid platforms. Define build sequences, integration stages, and incremental bring-up strategies for high-DOF mechatronic systems.
-
Bridge Domains: Derive and trace system-level requirements across the HW/SW integration boundary. Design and maintain ICDs covering mechanical, electrical, data, and communication interfaces — respecting domain ownership of sub-architecture.
-
Drive System V&V: Define test strategies, build SIL/HIL/physical test setups, and execute integration campaigns from bench through full-system commissioning. Leverage Sim2Real and digital twin environments to de-risk early.
-
Resolve Cross-Domain Issues: Analyze system-level failures across HW/SW/mechanical boundaries, drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions. Collaborate with Safety, Cybersecurity, and Certification to verify cross-cutting requirements at integration level.
-
Maintain Integration Integrity: Own integration baselines, configuration management, and release documentation. Feed lessons learned back into architecture evolution.
-
Education: MSc or PhD in Robotics, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
-
Track Record: 3+ years integrating complex mechatronic or autonomous systems (robotics, automotive, aerospace) with at least one product brought through integration to launch or field deployment.
-
Hands-On Integration: Multi-domain experience with actuators, sensors (IMU, F/T, vision, LiDAR), real-time controllers, and distributed compute. Proficient with SIL/HIL, ROS 2, simulation (Isaac Sim, Gazebo, MuJoCo), and fieldbus protocols (EtherCAT, CAN, DDS/RTPS, Ethernet/TSN).
-
Engineering Foundation: Requirements derivation, interface specification, V-model processes, traceability tooling (DOORS, Polarion, Jama). Python and C/C++ for test automation and data analysis. CI/CD familiarity.
-
Cross-Functional Mindset: Navigates HW/SW/mechanical failure modes and drives resolution across teams. Working knowledge of functional safety and cybersecurity standards (ISO 13849, ISO 10218, ISO/SAE 21434) at integration level.
