Lead QA Engineer

We are seeking a Lead QA Engineer to join our fully remote team. In this role, you will take ownership of the quality assurance process, driving improvements in both manual and automated testing strategies. You will work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to embed quality throughout the development lifecycle and ensure our software delivers exceptional user experiences.
- Languages and frameworks:
- Backend: Rust, JVM (Java, Spring, Scala, Kotlin), Python.
- Frontend: TypeScript, JavaScript, React, Context API, Redux.
- Testing:
- Backend: Java, Groovy, Spock, Python.
- Frontend: Jest, React Testing Library, Webdriver.io.
- Data: ClickHouse, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Redis, MySQL.
- Cloud platforms: Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- DevOps tools: Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm.
- Others: Protobufs, gRPC, Swagger.
As a key member of our team, you will be:
- Leading the design and implementation of comprehensive test strategies;
- Driving improvements to our automated testing framework, ensuring scalability, reliability, and efficiency;
- Collaborating with developers, product managers, and other teams to embed QA into every phase of the development process, from feature planning through release;
- Identifying, documenting, and tracking defects with clear, actionable feedback for developers;
- Identifying gaps in test coverage and developing solutions to address them, ensuring robust validation of crucial user paths and edge cases;
- Championing best testing practices, focusing on delivering high-quality software that meets user expectations.
- 6+ years of professional experience in QA, with a strong track record in both manual and automated testing;
- Deep proficiency in automated testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright (we use WebdriverIO);
- Strong programming skills with experience writing and maintaining scalable, efficient automation code;
- Extensive experience driving QA strategy and process improvements across teams;
- A proven ability to lead testing efforts for large, complex projects and work effectively with cross-functional teams;
- A customer-centric approach, aligning testing with product goals and user needs;
- Strong leadership and mentorship abilities, with a passion for elevating the entire QA function.
