As Clinical Data Engineer, you will be instrumental in building and maintaining LynxCare's clinical databases and data pipelines, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring the scalability, reliability, and performance of our data processes and quality procedures .

‍Job Description

As a Clinical Data Engineer, you work in a small team to develop high quality data flows to successfully build and maintain real-world-evidence databases. This includes:

  • Build and maintain NLP-enriched health care databases (OMOP) for hospitals across Europe in multiple therapeutic areas, including cardiology and oncology.
  • Apply, maintain and improve data ingestion and transformation pipelines for structured and unstructured data, including automated quality control.
  • Steer and support process improvements and scalability of data pipelines, data quality and reporting.
  • Collaborate with data analysts and project managers to realize real-world evidence studies leveraging the databases
  • Collaborate with the other engineering subteams (NLP engineers, Data engineers) and other internal stakeholders to optimize our integrated product offering

You have:

  • 2-4 years working experience with (large) datasets and data pipelines
  • Experience in data transformation, data engineering and data quality
  • Experience with spark, and Databricks or Jupyterhub
  • Programming skills in Python and SQL
  • Training or interest in (para)medical topics or health care
  • Team player mindset with an analytic problem-solving mind and an eye for detail
  • Effective communicator with diligence and strong sense of accountability
  • Languages: English (Professional)

You have (nice to have):

(= technologies/expertise you will be exposed to, but for which previous experience is not a must to be considered for the job):

  • Experience with Power BI, Metabase or other BI-tools
  • Experience with Azure and/or Kubernetes
  • Experience with R
  • Knowledge of medical ontology libraries (e.g. UMLS, Athena) and OMOP CDM
  • Experience with NLP or other types of machine learning
  • Dutch (Professional)
  • French, German or Spanish (Basic proficiency or higher)
