Overview
Immatics is currently seeking a Director, Head of Project Management* to further strengthen our development of innovative immunotherapeutic products against cancer. You will work in Tübingen, Munich or remote (Germany) with your global Project & Program Management team in an interdisciplinary environment with interactions with colleagues from various other departments across the Company.
Your mission
The Head of Project Management leads the Program Management operations at Immatics supporting the development of our clinical stage assets and partnered preclinical programs. Project Management manages efficient interaction between functional areas within a project with the mission to deliver project goals on time, within budget, and to high quality standards. As Head of Project Management your main responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following tasks:

  • Accountable leader for all Project Management operations at Immatics and line manager for Immatics’ Project Management staff (team of 5-10 colleagues)
  • Steer the Project Management organization enabling project teams to effectively deliver their project objectives
  • Involve yourself in escalated project issues and mentor Project Managers in their resolutions
  • Further develop Project Management tools, workflows and best practices for project planning, conduct and reporting
  • Establish and oversee effective project controlling with meaningful project metrics, putting special emphasis on resource /budget planning, benchmarking and control for our clinical development programs
  • Take ownership for cross-portfolio project related tasks as for example risk management, and project reporting
  • Interact regularly with leaders of other departments to align Project Management operations with the Company’ overall strategic plans and objectives
Your profile
  • You hold a Master’s degree or PhD in life science, or have completed a comparable education.
  • You gained your experience in Project Management (6+ years) in the life science industry, where you have demonstrated your ability to lead cross-functional teams, interact with partners or customers, and oversee project budgets, timelines and risks. You have a proven track record demonstrating your ability to successfully manage complex projects.
  • You are certified or trained in Project Management best-practices and methodology and have applied those during your previous work.
  • From previous work, you have a deep understanding of drug development and clinical research.
  • You have strong leadership and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication in fluent English is perfectly natural to you.
  • Knowledge in oncology, immunology or cell and gene therapy is an advantage.
  • You are open to dynamically developing requirements and demonstrate a high degree of flexibility.
