About the position
The EFFECT Photonics site in The Netherlands designs and sells cutting-edge photonic components for telecom and datacom, including tuneable lasers and other photonics integrated circuits. We are looking for a Procurement Manager. You will be responsible for the sourcing and acquisition of components and manufacturing services, ensuring cost efficiency, quality, and timely delivery to support EFFECT Photonics business.
Job responsibilities

Identify technology and cost trends in the supply market

For new product programs

Research candidate components specified by Engineering

Propose alternative components that are lower cost and meet specifications

Validate & scrub open book costed BOMs
-
Drive ongoing cost reductions to target cost

Ensure timely availability & capacity of components per program ramp requirements

For mass production stage products

Drive ongoing product cost reductions through

Benchmarking component process from alternative suppliers
-
Volume price agreements
-
Negotiate manufacturing value add activities

Plan for periodic phase in of lower cost alternatives/second sources

Direct purchasing agreements for critical component purchases

Assist in expediting materials in case of shortages

Ensure contractual master purchase agreements are in place with assembly partners and key component suppliers

Maintain relationships with suppliers
-
Responsible for price and contract negotiation
Job requirements
-
5+ year related experience
-
B. Sc. Degree in industrial Engineering or Business Administration
-
Fluency in English
-
Experience in multinational environment – preferably experience with Asian suppliers
