You will be working in a highly motivated team to accomplish a wide array of tasks including proofreading, editing, assessing, or reviewing language data, and advising on various cultural aspects of your language, and much more.

Your responsibilities
- Proofread Japanese texts, paying particular attention to linguistic subtleties and nuances
- Write and edit Japanese language content
- Advise on aspects of Japanese language and culture
- Test and evaluate machine translation data
- Assess, identify, and communicate on any particularities of different regional variants of the Japanese language
- Analyze various Japanese texts with particular regard to semantic and grammatical accuracy, and stylistic expression

About you
- Degree in Linguistics or similar
- Minimum of 2 years of translation experience
- You are fluent in Japanese and are familiar with the linguistic and cultural details of the language
- You are aware of the different varieties of Japanese and have experience working with them
- You are fluent in English and feel comfortable communicating in English (written and spoken)
- Experience in applying your analytical skills and linguistic knowledge (morphology, syntax, grammar, spelling) when working with texts and translations
- Knowledge of other languages, e.g. German, is a big plus
- Experience teaching Japanese as a second language is a big plus
- Experience in language quality assurance and localization is a plus
