Key Responsibilities
- Develop sophisticated, high-quality fragrance formulations specifically for beauty care products targeted at Chinese consumers.
- Conduct market research to understand regional preferences, trends, and emerging raw material innovations in China.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, marketing, regulatory affairs, and suppliers to develop and optimize perfume blends.
- Create and present fragrance concepts and prototypes for evaluation and decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with local regulatory and safety standards related to fragrance ingredients.
- Manage fragrance projects from concept through commercialization, adhering to timelines and budgets.
- Maintain and expand expertise in fragrance raw materials, technologies, and trends relevant to the Chinese beauty care market.
- Mentor and guide junior staff or fragrance evaluators if applicable.
- Proven experience as a Perfumer with a strong portfolio of successful beauty care fragrance launches, preferably in the Chinese or broader Asian markets.
- Deep knowledge of fragrance raw materials, their interactions, and formulation techniques specific to skincare, body care, and personal care products.
- Strong sensory evaluation skills with acute olfactory sensitivity and creativity.
- Familiarity with Chinese consumer preferences in beauty fragrances, including cultural and seasonal nuances.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements in China’s beauty and fragrance industry.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional partners.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Perfumery, or related fields preferred.
- Relevant training or certification from recognized perfumery institutes is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Mandarin and English is highly desirable.
