As the Climate Manager, you will manage and lead impactful, customer-facing projects, with end-to-end ownership of initiatives in the DACH region, supporting companies, banks, and asset managers in achieving their climate goals. You will provide expert advice on key climate topics, shape the development of market-leading software products, and drive the growth of specialized climate solutions.

Please note that this role requires German Native speaking skills.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Client Relationships

  • Lead and manage client projects, including Scope 1-3 emissions calculation, emissions reporting, decarbonization strategies, and supplier engagement around emissions data.
  • Own client relationships, ensuring high-quality project delivery and effective project management (e.g., timelines, team capacity).

Product Development & Software Solutions

  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to develop and enhance climate solutions in the software.
  • Define customer journeys, set clear requirements, provide content, and ensure quality control on feature development.
  • Focus on developing key modules such as carbon footprint calculators, science-based target setting, and scenario modeling.

Expert Advisory

  • Provide expert guidance on climate methodologies (e.g., GHG Protocol, CSRD compliance) and emissions calculations.
  • Advise clients on climate-focused reporting standards (e.g., SBTi, CDP, EU Taxonomy, SFDR) and their integration into business strategies.
  • Specialize in emissions measurement and reporting for the financial sector, particularly for banks and asset managers (e.g., applying PCAF to asset classes).

Knowledge Sharing & Team Development

  • Act as a knowledge resource for both the team and clients, ensuring the latest industry practices and standards are integrated into projects.
  • Share knowledge and educate team members on best practices and emerging trends in climate solutions.

Strategic Planning & Roadmap Development

  • Shape the organizational strategy by aligning the climate solutions portfolio with market trends and customer needs.
  • Prioritize product solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive growth and impact.

Requirements

GHG Emissions Expertise

  • Proficient in Scope 1-3 emissions calculations and carbon accounting methodologies (e.g., GHG Protocol).
  • Hands-on experience with emissions data, calculation methodologies, and reporting standards. Familiar with extended input-output modeling and life-cycle analysis.

Knowledge of Climate Frameworks & Regulations

  • Strong understanding of global climate frameworks like TCFD and PCAF, and how they apply to corporate ESG disclosures.
  • Keeps up-to-date with evolving climate regulations and helps clients align with best practices in sustainability.

Client-Focused and Strategic

  • Ability to assess client needs and design actionable strategies to measure and reduce emissions.
  • Can communicate complex climate topics to business leaders, helping them make informed decisions about sustainability.

Entrepreneurial & Tech-Savvy

  • Results-driven, entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on innovation and problem-solving.
  • Interested in technology and collaborating with software engineers to create data-driven solutions for sustainability.

Collaborative Team Player

  • Works effectively in a remote-first environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Location

We are a remote-first company. You can either work out of our headquarters in Berlin or remotely. Choose the setup that works best for you. Remote locations should be within +/- 3 hours of CET time. We regularly get together at co-location weeks to strengthen a great culture across geographies.
